What is a granita?
A granita is a semi-frozen dessert that you will often find in Italy, especially in Sicily. They are made with various fruit flavors or even coffee or chocolate can be used. It is frozen on a pan and then scraped to give it an icy texture. On the other hand, a sorbet is similar but has a smoothy and creamy texture.
If you live in the United States, it is similar to a slushy that you can buy at the 7-Eleven stores.
