The Verb to Bite in Italian – Mordere

Italian Verb – To Bite

The Italian verb, which is irregular, to bite and its conjugation are listed below:

To Bite – Mordere, Morsicare

To take a bite at – Addentare

 

Present Tense:

io mordo – I bite

tu mordi – You bite

lei/lui morde – he/she bites

noi mordiamo – we bite

voi mordete – you all (plural) bite

loro mordono – they bite

 

Some sayings:

Morderssi le labbra – To bite one’s lips

Mordersi la lingua – To bite one’s tongue

Mordere il freno – To champ at the bit

 

Roman Dialect – Verb to Bite

To bite – Mozzicare

Sicilian or Neapolitan Dialect – Verb to Bite

To bite – Muzzicare
