Cefalù, Sicily a Walk on a Picturesque Street

In this video, I am in Cefalù, Sicily. This is a picturesque road that cuts through the “centro storico” of the town.

The road is a beautiful cobblestone street, offering a stunning view of the medieval city’s architecture.

This is a tourist zone, and there are cute little boutique shops along this road. There is a shop on the left that sells dresses. On the right, there are hotels, Airbnbs, and hostels.

Also on the right, there are restaurants where you can dine and overlook the Tyrrhenian Sea. Bars, pubs, and Italian restaurants (trattorie) are also present on this street.

This road is called Via Ortolani Di Bordonaro Carlo.

The video takes place in a ZTL zone, or zona di traffico limitato. It is essentially a pedestrian area and is common in Italian cities that aim to preserve the town’s antiquity.

Cefalù Tourism

Cefalù is a town that attracts tourists, particularly from Germany and France. And now Americans are catching on to this destination. During the summer, the city’s population increases dramatically due to tourism.

Many years ago, they would roll out the red carpet on this road on a Friday and Saturday night.

Hopefully, they will bring back that custom soon as it added a nice personal and unique touch.

Cefalù is a quaint and picturesque town renowned for its beautiful beach, stunning rock formations, famous cathedral, and medieval architecture.

There are numerous excellent restaurants, pubs, and cafes. It has now become a renowned tourist destination.

It is definitely worth spending a few days here if you are visiting Sicily. The once fishing village lies approximately an hour east of Palermo and can be easily reached by car or train. And it is also reachable by public buses from Palermo and Catania.
