How do they Make Olive Oil in Palermo, Sicily?

April 19, 2025 By Larry Aiello

In this video I will tell you how they make homemade olive oil in Palermo, Sicily.

One of the great things about Palermo is that there are numerous olive groves right outside the city in the Sicilian countryside. The quality of the normal every day extra virgin olive oil is tremendous.  It has a flavor that you can not describe how delicious it is.  You will only believe it by tasting it yourself.

Some Italian Vocabulary:

Olive Oil – Olio d’Oliva

Rake – Rastrello

Farmer – Contadino

Extra Virgin – Extravergine

Cousin – Cugino (Masculine) Cugina (Feminine)
